6. Analytics and diagnostics

Peak Golf uses in-app analytics to understand how people use the application and to improve usability, reliability and features. Analytics may include product interaction, device and technical information. Peak Golf may also use crash-reporting and performance tools, such as Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, if these are included in the production build.

Analytics must not be described as anonymous merely because a user name is absent. Device, installation or account identifiers can still make information personal data or linked data. Peak Golf should configure analytics to minimise collection, disable advertising features unless separately assessed and disclosed, and avoid sending names, email addresses or other direct identifiers in event names or parameters.

7. Authentication services

You may be able to sign in using Apple or Google. The relevant provider authenticates you and sends Peak Golf the information needed to create or access your account. Your use of those services is also governed by the provider's privacy terms. Revoking access at the provider does not necessarily delete the Peak Golf account; use Profile > Delete Account or the external deletion route described below.

8. Subscriptions and app stores

Peak Golf Pro subscriptions are purchased and billed only through Apple App Store or Google Play. Peak Golf may receive subscription status, product and transaction identifiers, purchase date, renewal status and validation data. Peak Golf does not receive your complete payment-card details.

Deleting a Peak Golf account does not automatically cancel an app-store subscription. You must cancel the subscription through your Apple or Google account to prevent future renewal. Conversely, cancelling a subscription does not by itself delete your Peak Golf account.

9. Sharing personal data

We do not sell personal data. We may disclose or make data available to the following categories of recipient only where necessary:

  • Cloud hosting, database, authentication and infrastructure providers.
  • Analytics, crash-reporting and performance providers.
  • Apple and Google for authentication, subscription validation, store operations and push-notification delivery.
  • Email, support and communications providers.
  • Professional advisers, insurers, auditors and regulators.
  • A buyer, investor or successor in connection with a genuine corporate transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.
  • Law-enforcement bodies, courts or public authorities where disclosure is required or lawfully requested.

Service providers are expected to process personal data under written terms, apply appropriate security and use the data only for authorised purposes.

10. International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. Where required, Peak Golf will rely on an applicable adequacy regulation or decision, approved contractual safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum, or the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses, together with supplementary measures where appropriate.

11. Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including legal, accounting, security and dispute-resolution needs. The following periods are operational targets and should be confirmed against the actual technical configuration:

Data categoryTypical retention approach
Active account and profile dataFor the life of the account, then deleted or anonymised following account deletion, subject to limited lawful retention.
Account deletion recordsA minimal record of the request and completion may be retained for up to 6 years where needed to demonstrate compliance or handle legal claims.
Support correspondenceNormally up to 3 years after resolution, unless a longer period is needed for a dispute or legal obligation.
Subscription validation recordsFor the account lifetime and, where needed, up to 6 years for accounting, fraud prevention or legal claims. Peak Golf does not hold full card details.
Analytics dataAccording to the configured analytics retention setting and no longer than necessary; aggregated or irreversibly anonymised statistics may be kept longer.
Crash and diagnostic dataNormally for a limited operational period configured in the relevant service, unless needed to investigate a continuing security or reliability issue.
Marketing consent recordsWhile marketing continues and afterwards for a limited period to evidence consent or preserve a suppression record.

12. Account deletion

You can initiate deletion in the app by selecting Profile > Delete Account. You can also request deletion outside the app through the account-deletion page on the Peak Golf website or by emailing privacy@peak-golf.com from the email address associated with your account.

When deletion is completed, Peak Golf will delete or irreversibly anonymise personal data associated with the account unless limited retention is required for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, accounting or legal claims. We may need to verify identity before acting on an external request. We aim to complete verified requests without undue delay and ordinarily within 30 days, subject to lawful extensions.

Deleting the account does not cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel the subscription separately in the relevant store settings.

13. Your data-protection rights

Depending on where you live and the circumstances, you may have rights to:

  • Be informed about processing.
  • Request access to personal data.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request deletion.
  • Request restriction of processing.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests or to direct marketing.
  • Receive certain data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier lawful processing.
  • Complain to a supervisory authority.

UK users may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. EU/EEA users may complain to the data-protection authority where they live, work or believe an infringement occurred. Please contact us first where possible so we can try to resolve the concern.

14. Marketing communications

We send promotional email only where permitted by law. You can unsubscribe using the link in the message or by contacting us. We may retain a minimal suppression record so that we do not contact you again. Service, security and account messages are not marketing and may still be sent where necessary.

15. Cookies and similar technologies

The website may use strictly necessary technologies without optional consent where permitted. Analytics, preference or advertising technologies must not be activated until valid consent is obtained where consent is required. You can change choices through the cookie-preference control. Further details are in the Cookie Policy.

16. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data, including access controls, encrypted transmission, secure authentication, service-provider due diligence, monitoring and data minimisation. No system is completely secure. Users should protect their device and account credentials and notify us of suspected unauthorised access.

17. Children

Peak Golf is not directed at children under 13. Where local law requires parental consent for an older age, the service should not knowingly rely on a child's consent without the required authorisation. If you believe a child has provided personal data unlawfully, contact us so that we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

18. Automated decision-making

Peak Golf does not currently use personal data to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

19. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the service, law or our processing changes. We will publish the revised version with a new effective date and provide additional notice where required. Material changes should be reflected promptly in App Store Connect and Google Play Console disclosures.
